4-run rally in 7th leads to 8-5 TOTS' win
Tucson Old Timers (TOTS)
60-and-over baseball
Team Blue scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning thanks to a couple of hits and two bases-loaded walks to edge Team White 8-5 in a 60-and-over Tucson Old Timers game this morning at Udall Park.
Up 5-4, Team White brought in the hard-throwing Doc Thompson to spell starter Mike Steele, but a couple of back-to-back hits by Lloyd Barzell and Dennis Crowley, followed by consecutive bases-loaded walks to Pigpen Price and Jesse Ochoa turned the tide for Team Blue.
Team Blue went to their bullpen in the bottom of the seventh with a three-run cushion. Flamethrower Reed Palmer sat Team White down with out any runs to preserve the win for Team Blue starter John Mathews.
The TOTS close out the week with a game on Friday at Udall. First pitch: 9 a.m.
