Diamondbacks are snake bit

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks (76-67) are back on the road feeling snake bit.

The Diamondbacks have lost seven of their last 10 games and seem to be digging a hole as they fall out of first place in the NL West -- 2 1/2 games back of the league-leading Colorado Rockies (78-64).

To make matters worse Arizona heads for Colorado and a four-game series with the Rockies. The opener tonight at Coors Field pits Arizona's Zack Godley (14-8) and Colorado's German Marquez (11-9).

And to make matters worse the LA Dodgers (78-65) have slipped into second place in the NL West -- two full games ahead of Arizona.

Nineteen games to go in the regular season. It's time for Arizona to bite off the head of the snake, throw the remnants in the Salt River and put together a string of wins.
