Wildcats beat Fresno State, 85-72

Arizona Wildcats Basketball

Allonzo Trier pumped in a career-high 27 points and grabbed six rebounds as the 13th-ranked Arizona Wildcats beat Fresno State tonight at McKale, 85-72.

It wasn't easy. Arizona, behind 46-43 at the end of the first half, clamped down defensively in the second half and held Fresno State to 26 points. Ryan Anderson added 17 points and eight rebounds, Gabe York drilled a couple of clutch three-pointers late in the second half and finished with 12 points, while Kadeem Allen chipped in 13 points before leaving the court in the second half with an ankle injury.

Arizona (8-1) hit 52.6 percent from the field, canning 30 of 57 shots -- including 8 for 21 from three-point land for 38.1 percent. The Wildcats are still struggling from the charity stripe, making 17 of 28 attempts. Dusan Ristic, starting in place of the injured Kaleb Tarczewski, had six points and six rebounds but missed all five of his free throw attempts.

Missouri comes to town on Sunday.
