60-and-over baseball
Left-handed power hitter Joe Opocensky singled to right field and knocked in the winning run as Team White edged Team Blue 7-6 today at Udall Park in a 60-and-over Tucson Old Timers baseball game.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Pete Peters singled to left field and Arnie White followed with a perfect bunt which came to rest halfway up the third base line. Hard-hitting Tim Tolson grounded out to first to move the runners to second and third and Opocensky followed with his walk-off single.
White pitched all seven innings for Team White and picked up the victory, while Team Blue's Dan Lundwall was saddled with the loss.
The TOTS will be back in action on Wednesday and Friday with games scheduled for 10 a.m. at Udall.
