A windy day at the ball park

Tucson Old Timers (TOTS)

60-and-over baseball

Team Blue edged Team White 9-7 at Udall on Monday in a 60-and-over Tucson Old Timers (TOTS) baseball game. It was a windy and gray overcast day -- making each play an adventure for the old timers. See below:

Third baseman Pigpen Price can't quite make the play...

A mighty rip by Dave Rhoades as Pigpen Price and Arnie White (on stool) look on...

First baseman Dave Rhoades makes the play, aka The Karate Kid...

Chicko Bigham fouls off an Arnie White fastball as the tree limbs swirl beyond the outfield fence...

A traffic jam on the bases...

and nothing but laughter in the dugout!

...and on Wednesday a 4-4 tie and a little less wind and a little more sunshine...

catcher Dennis Crowley takes a breather...

...Lloyd Barzell hauls in the pop up (the correct way...two hands)...

Brian Reilly touches third and heads for home...

...and the tall and short of it...89-year-old Floyd Lance, the first baseman, and 85-year-old Billy Heiny, the 105-pound dynamo.
