Arizona steals Gildan New Mexico Bowl
Down 48-35 with 90 seconds left in the game, Arizona scores two touchdowns and executes both extra points to steal a 49-48 win over Nevada this afternoon at the Gildan New Mexico Bowl in Albuquerque. It is hard to believe Arizona (8-5) was able to pull off the feat after allowing Nevada (7-6) to run roughshod over the Wildcats for the first 58 minutes and 30 seconds of regulation.
Heroes a plenty in this one. Ka'Deem Carey rushes for 172 yards and scores three touchdowns. Matt Scott throws three touchdown passes, rushes for another and amasses 382 yards through the air and another 21 on the ground. Austin Hill catches nine passes for 175 yards and two scores -- including a 2-yard TD pass with 42 seconds left in the game and Tyler Slavin catches the game-winner from two yards out with just 19 second left.
What a way to start the postseason bowl games!
