Sergio Garcia finally got it done.

It took him 74 tries, but Garcia finally won a major -- and it was a BIG one.

Garcia birdied the first playoff hole to beat Justin Rose and capture the 81st Masters and the crowd around the par-4 18th hole at Augusta National roared their approval.

Both Rose and Garcia carded 3-under-par 69s on the final day and finished 9-under, setting up the dramatic finish.

The end of a long journey for the 37-year-old Garcia. The final stop: Augusta. At least for now.
