Wildcats off to an 8-0-start
Arizona Wildcats Baseball
The 2017 Arizona Wildcats are 8-0.
I know it's early. A lot of non-conference games and a tough Pac-12 race ahead.
But the Wildcats swept four games at Hi Corbett from a visiting Eastern Kentucky team and then did the same with McNeese State during the month of February. Not household names, but still a "good" result to start the season.
We now head into March with away games at the Frisco Classic in Frisco, Texas (against Arkansas, Oklahoma and Nebraska) and a single game in Lubbock against Texas Tech.
The top four players off to a great start at the plate for the Wildcats are Nick Quintana (15 for 30, a .500 batting average), Mitchell Morimoto (15 for 32, a .469 average), Jared Oliva (16 for 35, a .457 average) and JJ Matijevic (15 for 34, a .441 average). Oliva leads the team in homers with two and tops the chart in RBI with 31.
Great start! Keep it going, Wildcats!
