Arizona Wildcats Basketball

Arizona shook off a poor shooting first half, put the clamps on the Oregon State Beavers in the second half, and rolled to a 71-54 win tonight in Corvallis, Oregon. The Wildcats improve to 21-2 overall and 10-0 in the Pac-12 Conference.

Allonzo Trier led the 5th-ranked Wildcats with 18 points on a night when 7-foot freshman Lauri Markkanen scored just eight points, while big man Dusan Ristic turned out to be the only other Wildcat in double figures with 10.

Arizona shot a shade over 34 percent from the field in the first half and went to the locker room down 29-27. The Wildcats went on a 10-0 run to start the second half and at the midway point had outscored the Beavers 23-2 and held a 55-36 lead.

The Wildcats take on 13th-ranked Oregon on Saturday.
