Markkanen scores 26 as Wildcats beat the Huskies

With two starters on the bench, Arizona turned to Lauri Markkanen to lead the way tonight in Seattle as 5th-ranked Arizona holds off the Washington Huskies, 76-68.

Markkanen made 9 of 17 from the field and finished the game with 26 points and 13 rebounds, while Allonzo Trier made 6 of 10 from the field -- including 4 of 5 3-pointers -- for 21 points.

With Dusan Ristic and Kadeem Allen on the bench with injuries, Chance Comanche filled the void with 13 points and seven rebounds, while Parker Jackson-Cartwright hit 3 of 5 from long range and finished with 11 points and four assists.

Arizona and Washington battled to a 42-42 tie at halftime. Markkanen scored 18 points and hauled in eight rebounds in the first half.

Arizona improves to 25-3 and 14-1 in the Pac-12 Conference. The Wildcats head home and take on USC on Thursday and UCLA on Saturday.
