Arizona Wildcats Basketball
Wichita State got hot from the field in the second half and took down Vanderbilt 70-50 tonight in Dayton, Ohio, to win the play-in game and advance to play our own sixth-seeded Arizona Wildcats (25-8) on Thursday in Providence, Rhode Island in a first-round matchup of the NCAA Basketball Tournament.
Vandy had the height advantage with three 7-footers on its roster, but the Shockers were able to take them down with a 20-2 run to finish the game. The game was deadlocked 30-30 at the end of the first half.
Wichita State, an 11 seed for the tourney, improves to 25-8.
