Tucson Old Timers (TOTS)

60-and-over baseball

Team White first baseman Ron Carlson went 2 for 3, scored a run and drove in four runs today at Udall Park in a 12-11 win over Team Blue.

Right-hander Bob Daliege went the distance and picked up the pitching victory. Daliege helped his own cause with a 2 for 4 day and two runs batted in, while Tim Tolson and Pete Peters also had two hits apiece for the winning team.

Lloyd Barzell went 3 for 4 for Team Blue and knocked in three runs.

Jesse Ochoa went 2 for 4 and knocked in three runs as well, while Pigpen Price, out for four weeks with a foot injury, returned to action and went 2 for 4, scored a run and knocked in two runs for Team Blue.

Price knocked in the tying run in the top of the sixth inning to even the score at 11-11, but in the bottom of the sixth, Alan Rasmussen doubled to left field, scampered home on a two-base throwing error and Team White went on to win the game as Daliege shut down Team Blue in the top of the seventh inning.

Price pitched 4 2/3 innings for Team Blue, before giving way to Barzell, who pitched the remaining 1 1/3 innings and was saddled with the loss.
