Arizona Wildcats sweep Washington Huskies

Arizona wins in Seattle.

The Wildcats make it a clean sweep of the Washington Huskies with a 8-3 win on Friday, a 6-2 win on Saturday and a 7-6 win in 11 innings today to improve to 21-7 and 9-3 in the Pac-12 Conference standings.

On Friday, Daniel Susac went 4 for 5, knocked in six runs with two homers, while teammate Chance Davis hit his club-leading ninth home run. Friday-night starter TJ Nichols improved to 4-1 with seven solid innings of work. On Saturday, Tommy Splaine and Nik McClaughry homered, Garrett Irvin (3-1) hurled six innings, allowing two runs on six hits, while Chris Barraza (1-0) picked up the win in relief as Arizona broke a 2-2 tie with three runs in the eighth and a run in the ninth.

Today, Tanner O'Tremba (above photo) singled in the go-ahead run in the top of the 11th inning and reliever Trevor Long (1-0) picked up the win with three sold innings of shutout ball to close out the game and the sweep of the Huskies.

Arizona takes on ASU in a one-game affair in Tempe on Tuesday, before returning home for a three-game Pac-12 series next weekend at Hi Corbett Field against Washington State.
