Diamondbacks are winning, but it's a little too late

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks (71-77) are giant killers this week.

It's a little too late to make a difference, but the Diamondbacks own back-to-back shutouts over the Giants in San Francisco, winning 2-0 on Friday as Rubby De La Rosa improves to 13-8 and coming out on top today with a 6-0 victory, behind seven innings of work from Patrick Corbin (6-4).

The hottest hitter for the Diamondbacks: A.J. Pollock with a .391 average over his last nine games. He went 3 for 4 today and leads the club in hits with 177. In fact his season batting average is now .319, best on the ball club. Paul Goldschmidt is now second with a .317 average. Of course, Goldy still leads the team with 28 homers and 100 RBI.
