The free throw that went nowhere
Arizona Wildcats Basketball
I woke up in the middle of the night haunted by Aaron Gordon's free throw in the first half...the one which didn't bounce off the backboard or the rim.
Now, I've seen the ball halt game action many a time by a field goal attempt that somehow sticks to the backboard and rim, but I can't recall a free throw attempt doing the same.
The Wildcats clang 10 of 16 free throws last night in the Pac-12 title game against UCLA -- some of the attempts spun out...or bounced off the front of the rim...or, you name it, 10 misses all failed in some way to find the netting.
But, the one which STUCK! Now that is priceless.
After the selection show this afternoon, maybe I'll take a nap. Hopefully, the Wildcats will be implanted as the No. 1 Seed with a first-round matchup in San Diego and all will be forgotten.
Please, no more CLANGS or THUDS the rest of the way!
