Arizona Wildcats Baseball
The 17th-ranked Arizona Wildcats (31-18, 18-8) still sit atop the Pac-12 Conference regular-season standings.
The Wildcats are at the controls and need to put the pedal to the metal with four conference games remaining. They have got the job done so far. Arizona tuned up for the Utah trip last Tuesday with a non-conference win in Tempe over Arizona State and followed with a split in Salt Lake City beating the Utes, 8-4 on Saturday after dropping the opener of the three-game series on Friday by a score of 6-1.
They meet the Utes (31-17, 16-10) again today before heading home for their final series at Hi Corbett Field with the hard-hitting 7th-ranked Oregon State Beavers (38-12, 16-9) on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Clark Candiotti hurled seven innings on Saturday in Salt Lake City, improving to 6-2 for the season. He struck out four and walked one. Mason White hit his 16th and 17th home runs, while Andrew Cain blasted a three-run homer.
Cam Walty (7-1) will take the mound for the Wildcats today at 6 PM, Arizona time.
