Arizona Wildcats Baseball

Brendan Summerhill hit a two-run double in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Arizona a 4-3 win over Oregon State at Hi Corbett Field tonight as the Wildcats capture the Pac-12 Conference regular-season title.

After losing the first two games of the series (9-2, 16-1) and then trailing 3-2 in the ninth tonight, Summerhill stepped into the batter's box and ripped a double off the wall in right-center field, scoring Tommy Splaine from third base and Maddox Mihalakis from first for the walk-off win.

Cam Walty kept Oregon State at bay for  8 1/3 innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out eight. He did not walk a batter and threw 105 pitches. Anthony Susac picked up the win in relief.

Summerhill went 3 for 5 tonight, scored a run, and knocked in two, while Garen Caulfield went 2 for 2 with a walk. He knocked in a run and scored a run.

Arizona finished the 2024 season with a 33-20 overall record and a 20-10 Pac-12 Conference record.

And now it's on to the postseason. First up: the Pac-12 Conference Tournament. Arizona gets the No. 1 seed and a bye and will play next Wednesday in Scottsdale.

Way to go, Wildcats!
