Showdown at Hi Corbett: #17 Arizona vs. 7th-ranked Oregon State

 Arizona Wildcats Baseball

The place to be on Thursday night: Hi Corbett Field

Arizona is one win away from securing the Pac-12 Conference regular-season title. The Wildcats will have three shots at 7th-ranked Oregon State, currently 1 1/2 games behind Arizona in the standings.

The Wildcats eliminated Utah 10-4 last night in Salt Lake to improve to 32-18 overall and 19-8 in the Pac-12, while Oregon State (39-12, 17-9) thumped UCLA 15-1 earlier in the day to prove that their lofty national ranking is for real.

All games begin at 6 p.m.

In Salt Lake City last night, Arizona's Brendan Summerhill went 3 for 4 with a home run and three RBI to lead the Wildcats, while Andrew Cain added a two-run shot over the right field fence. Cam Walty (8-1) started for the Wildcats and pitched five innings before giving way to the bullpen as Arizona, down 2-0 early, came roaring back with a five-run fifth inning, three more runs in the sixth, and two more in the ninth.

Update national rankings: (5/16/24) Oregon State moves up to No. 6, while Arizona moves up to No. 14
