Splaine's walk-off single lifts Arizona to Pac-12 Tourney Championship

 Arizona Wildcats Baseball

Tommy Splaine singled to left field in the bottom of the ninth inning and knocked in pinch-runner Emilio Corona from second base with the game-winning run as the Arizona Wildcats won the Pac-12 Tournament Championship 4-3 tonight in Scottsdale over the USC Trojans.

Arizona trailed USC 3-0 in the fourth and was held without a hit for 6 1/3 innings by Caden Aoki but came roaring back with a run in the seventh, two in the eighth, and the game-winner in the ninth to capture the tourney title, just one week after winning the Pac-12 Conference regular-season title in walk-off fashion over Oregon State at Hi Corbett Field in Tucson.

Blake McDonald started things off in the ninth by ripping a single to left field and then gave way to Corona, who immediately stole second to put himself in position to race home on Splaine's blast to left.

Arizona received another excellent outing from Cam Walty, who went eight innings before giving way to reliever Anthony Susac (2-2). Susac pitched the ninth and picked up the win.

Way to go, Wildcats!
