Susac belts 2 homers to lift Wildcats to 8-6 win over Oregon

Catcher Daniel Susac hit two home runs at Scottsdale Stadium today as the 5th-seeded Arizona Wildcats beat the 4th-seeded Oregon Ducks 8-6 in the opening round of the inaugural Pac 12 Conference Baseball Tournament.

Sucac (photo left) hit a solo home run in the third inning and drilled a two-run shot  in the ninth inning. He scored three times and finished his day 3 for 4, while Chase Davis and Garen Caulfield contributed two hits apiece and a combined four RBI. Caulfield starting the scoring in the top of the second inning with a two-run homer  over the left field fence--his second round-tripper of the year for Arizona.

Arizona (36-21) will face either top-seeded Stanford or eighth-seeded Arizona State on Thursday in the second round of the tourney. Game time: 4:45 p.m.
