Arizona suffering in the Bahamas
Arizona Wildcats Basketball
For the second night in a row the 2nd-ranked Arizona Wildcats lose.
This time the Wildcats fall to SMU 66-60 at the Battle for Atlantis tourney in Nassau.
Once again, it was Allonzo Trier leading the way for the Wildcats with 22 points, while Deandre Ayton recorded another double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds.
Arizona shoots 46.8 percent (22 of 47), but hits only 5 of 20 from beyond the arc. The Wildcats get very little help from the rest of the starters and the bench. Ira Lee came off the bench to score five points and that was it.
The Wildcats fall to 3-2 and will likely tangle with 18th-ranked Purdue in the third and final game tomorrow.
What looked like a tourney win in Nassau for the Wildcats, turns into a learning experience.
