MLB teams roll forward with over 100 games already in the books

 Major League Baseball -- 2022

As August is here, front and center, we can check on the MLB standings and see the sad news for some teams, and joy for a select few -- like the New York Yankees (70-34) and the LA Dodgers (69-33), while teams like the Houston Astros (67-37), the New York Mets (65-37) and the Atlanta Braves (62-41) are rolling toward the postseason as well.

On the other end of the spectrum, the Arizona Diamondbacks (45-57) let another good old boy go, the popular David Peralta. I'm shaking my head over that one. I think I'll stop there.

In the meantime, Aaron Judge is proving he's currently the best player in the land with 43 home runs, 10 stolen bases and a batting average of .299. And did I mention he now has 201 career home runs in the Majors at the age of 30.

Now let's talk about my favorite player...well one of my favorite players. I like just about anybody who can play Major League Baseball. Let's talk about Albert Pujols, who is still swinging away at the age of 42 and may be the most popular man in St. Louis, Missouri these days.

Albert's career stats as of this morning: August, 2, 2022: Home Runs (686), RBI (2,174) and a .296 batting average in his 22 seasons...and counting!

My hope is for Pujols to reach 20+ home runs this season and help lead the Cardinals (54-48) to the playoffs.

Every time he comes to bat the baseball world watches. What a career.

As for the MLB, August is here, September is just a few weeks away and October is just around the corner.
