John Mathews sprayed the ball all over Udall Park today.
Mathews went 4 for 4, knocked in three runs and was the winning pitcher as Team White cruised to a 14-6 win over Team Blue in a 60-and-over baseball game.
Team White had their hitting shoes on for most of the day as Tim Tolson, Ron Petersen and Jesse Ochoa combined for eight hits to support Mathews. Dave Byars went 3 for 3 for the losing team, while Roy Ryan and Dan Boxberger combined for 4 hits and five RBI.
Boxberger, one of the TOTS' top catchers, took a rare turn on the mound today and was saddled with the loss.
The TOTS will take the weekend off and return to action at Udall on Monday. Game time: 10 a.m.
