Rockies hold on to beat Diamondbacks, 8-7

The Arizona Diamondbacks fall to the Rockies 8-7 at Coors Field today and return home after a successful 5-4 road trip. The Diamondbacks almost pulled out the getaway game in Denver, battling back from a 7-1 deficit to tie the game. But in the end, a 6-3 road trip just wasn't in the cards as Nolan Arenado hit a solo shot in the bottom of the eighth to preserve the win for the Rockies.

Arizona (17-19) will open a four-game series at Chase Field tomorrow night against the San Francisco Giants (17-18).
