Diamondbacks capture 2 of 3 from Reds
Arizona Diamondbacks
The Arizona Diamondbacks (54-56) captured 2 of 3 from the Cincinnati Reds, including a 4-3 extra-inning win today at Chase Field. The Reds leave town and the Philadelphia Phillies arrive for a three-game series as the Diamondacks edge closer to the .500 mark.
Today, it was Chris Owings with the game-winner as he singled home Paul Goldschmidt in the bottom of the 10th inning. A walk off win for Arizona and a great day for David Peralta, who went 5 for 5, including a single in the 10th inning which advanced Goldschmidt to third.
Patrick Corbin pitched six strong innings for the Diamondbacks, but he left the mound in the seventh after giving up his third run of the game. Josh Collmenter (4-6) picked up the win in relief. Arizona collected 15 hits in the game.
The Phillies are in town Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
