A-Rod homers for 3,000th hit, 667 career home runs

Alex Rodriguez homered in the first inning last night for his 3,000th hit and 667th career home run as the New York Yankees beat Detroit, 7-2.

It was A-Rod's 13th home run of the season. He becomes the 29th player in major league history to reach 3,000 hits.
