Arizona Wildcats Baseball
Arizona rebounded from an opening series loss to win 14-6 on Friday and 8-1 today in Houston to capture two of the three games over the Cougars and grab that all-important top-4 finish in the regular season to earn a first-round bye for next week's Big 12 Conference Tournament in Arlington, Texas.
Arizona takes a 36-16 overall record into postseason play while finishing 18-12 in the conference.
Today, Arizona ripped four doubles and belted two home runs to beat the Cougars as Smith Bailey (2-3) earned the win on the mound with six strong innings of work. Mason White hit his 13th homer of the season, and Andrew Cain had three hits on the day, including his fifth homerun this season.
And now the Wildcats head for Arlington and enjoy a few days off before their play on Thursday. The time and opponent have yet to be determined.
Way to go, Wildcats!
