Diamondbacks salvage 1 of 3 with Pirates
Arizona Diamondbacks
The Arizona Diamondbacks win 3-2 today at Chase Field and salvage one of the three games with the Pittsburgh Pirates -- the winning run crosses the plate in the bottom of the 10th inning when the runner, Nick Ahmed, was hit by a throw from Pirates second baseman Jayson Nix, during a potential double play relay.
Pittsburgh manager Clint Hurdle argued the call, but the D-backs prevailed and improve to 49-63 and await the beginning of a three-game series with the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday.
